Ilima Lei
The admired and elegant Ilima is the island of Oahu’s representative flower lei. It is also know as “the royal lei” since this flower was once only worn by Hawaiian high chiefs. It takes hundreds of golden orange, paper-thin flowers to make one single strand. This stunning, orange blossom has five petals and is about an inch in diameter. The blossoms are strung though the center to create this upper-class favorite. Tip: Because the Ilima flower is small in diameter, this lei looks best when layered with two or more strands. See also Ilima twist for a different look.
Care: Wrap flat in paper towel, keep dry, and in an airtight container.
