Fragrant Tuberose has a lovely scent that is likened to the sweet aroma of a gardenia. The single short stem Tuberose lei is strung through the center of the flower and is often entwined around other leis (such as Maile, Ti Leaf, roses, crownflower, etc.) The difference between the short stem tuberose lei and the single tuberose lei, is the lack of a stem. This lei requires 35% more tuberose than the single style tuberose lei. The leimakers cut the stems off prior to sewing and as a result, the lei uses more tuberose, looks fuller, and has a pretty flower-y effect. This lei is often layered with several strands for a fuller, more sophisticated look. This lei is a popular choice for its apparent beauty and delicious fragrance.
NOTE: During April 27–June 15 (graduation season), we experience very high demand and expect shortages of tuberose and ginger. This lei may be supplemented with orchids without prior notice, though we will keep it as close as possible to the original design. If you prefer no substitutions or supplements, please do not select this lei during this period. Mahalo!
Care: Refrigerate in sealed plastic bag or container. Keep dry and handle lei as little as possible before use.
